How to style an African Print clothing

Fashion, Online Shopping, Shop Ngosikadzi, Zimbabwe

HARARE – Ever since I decided to put African Print clothing as the headline item in my shop I have a lot of mixed feelings about how clients feel about it. I would say a certain generation and group within generations think of it as a backward, Old Nollywood attire.

It is thanks to an Ankara wave of modern Nollywood and Diaspora Africans and Blacks that led to the growing popularity of the fabrics in evening gowns, casual pieces and bridal wear.

These days the print is associated with marriage gatherings, “Marooro” which comes with connotations about it not being suitable for everyday wear.

The good thing is as more African celebrity stylists have given their clients gorgeous creations for the fabric we stand a chance to win.

There is a chance for European aesthetics to be dominated by African Print. It does take a certain client of a bold nature to wear Ankara stylishly.

We make a preference of African Print items for both women and men. With bomber jackets they bring a great utility fashion piece.

Bomber Jackets for $40 with some for $30/$20 as well available our dresses are $35 (as of today at least). At DreamHub for HAMBA, 145 FIFE AVENUE, Harare @hambanow on Instagram.

The question is not whether African print is more stylish than the everyday fast fashion from wholesale China malls.

The question is,

ARE YOU BOLD ENOUGH TO ROCK PRINT?
