Airline offers free festival tickets for passengers
Proflight Zambia has stepped in with a 10 percent discount on air fares for revellers heading to the Mosi Day of Thunder in Livingstone on April 29.
The discount can be booked in any Proflight office or online using promo code ‘Thunder2017’ for travel between April 28 and 30.
The airline is also offering a free ticket to the musical extravaganza for every passenger travelling to Livingstone on April 28 and 29 on top of the 10 percent fare discount for those who already have Mosi Day of Thunder event tickets who fly to the home of Victoria Fall on those days. The free ticket for the musical extravaganza will be given to the passengers at check in.
“We’re drumming with the Mosi Day of Thunder to help make this year’s event even bigger than the spectacular festival held last year, which attracted 7,500 party-goers to the nation’s tourist capital,” said Proflight director of government and industry affairs Capt. Philip Lemba.
“Proflight is dedicated to promoting Zambia’s tourism, and especially the jewel in its crown – the mighty Mosi-o-Tunya (Victoria) Falls. The Mosi Day of Thunder falls over the long May Day weekend, so it’s a perfect excuse to head to Livingstone, enjoy some of the nation’s leading musical and cultural talent, and see Victoria Falls at its most thunderous,” he added.
The one-hour, 10-minute flight compares with a 480km road trip taking six hours each way, meaning travellers by air have an extra 10 hours to spend enjoying the sights and sounds of Livingstone.
Proflight has flights leaving Lusaka from Livingstone at 11hrs and 16:10hrs on Friday, April 28, 07:40 and 07:50hrs, 11hrs and 16:10hrs on the day of the festival with return flights from Livingstone departing at 09:15, 09:35hrs, 12:35hrs and 17:50hrs on Sunday, April 30. For those wanting to make the most of the long public holiday weekend, there are also return flights from Livingstone on Monday, May 1 at 12:35hrs and 17:50hrs.
Zambian Breweries’ Mosi Day of Thunder combines the cream of musical talent with the vibe of the nation’s tourism capital and iconic Mosi-o-Tunya (Victoria) Falls to celebrate the best of the country’s culture, ranging from the leading headline musical acts to traditional performances and artists from across the nation.
Artists already confirmed for this year’s festival include Danny Kaya, Urban Hype, James Sakala, Jay Rox, Chef 187, Slap Dee, Marimba Band from Avani, DJ Psycho Tash and Bittersweet poets.
Under 18s will not be allowed into the venue.

We visited Livingstone and we loved the view of the falls still on the Livingstone side with HAMBANOW, why not enjoy the festival on the other side!
