#ZFWSeries V: The “Little Black Dress” RELOADED

As the ZFWSeries continues an iconic symbol of class and glamour is the Little Black Dress. Coco Chanel coined the phrase, this piece also came alive by the classic Audrey Hepburn “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” movie. One thing is for certain this staple works, all the time!

Exactly how this LBD can fit for an Africentric look is by big bold statement neckpieces. This post was inspired by a neckpiece worn by Editor of JEWEL magazine, Tsitsi Mutendi for a function where she wore her LBD in a wonderful CHRISTIE BROWN neckpiece.

So this is how you can achieve an elegant look with your LBD fit for an African Fashion Week like Zimbabwe Fashion Week. Look for treasure items at flea-market African sections, be creative and look in department stores to find a bold neck piece to turn that LBD into a glamorous piece.

Remember to not have overpowering earrings, unless it’s your usual personality, stick to subtle ear studs to stay chic.

  1. The LBD is my go to item for any event. I agree that its a wardrobe must-have. However, that Christie Brown neckpiece just grabbed my attention and hung on for dear life. Its stunning. I confess I had never heard of Christie Brown till I read this post. They officially have a fan.
