#NYFW The story of David Tlale

I think one of most monumental times in my blogging experience was all the great stories of success in fashion. The David Tlale brand is very young but has managed to reach international standards of quality and fashion PR.

David Tlale did not attend in person to Zimbabwe Fashion Week and a lot of twitter haters were … tweeting about it (Ooooooh how tough is that). David had been given an opportunity to have his own stand alone show at New York Fashion Week for the very first time. Who would have thought a boy born in apartheid ridden South Africa in the township of Vosloorus, would hit it big in the Big Apple?

It has taught me that no matter how different you are from the norm or crazy your ideas are, being true to yourself makes you special. We should challenge mediocrity and defy convention.

David Tlale is a household label that firmly stands its own ground among a sea of other labels; this being attributed to the sheer design erudition and precision that challenges mediocrity. – David Tlale Facebook Page

The SS2013 collection had an African-feel with the turbans that resembled African Turbans like those in West African countries. Beading, Colour, Textures were incorporated as per David Tlale style, with great detail and workmanship very evident. It achieves being culturally diverse as it mixes African elements with Western, Eastern and Middle Eastern flare.

If David Tlale can make it to great heights, then so can we
